Message From Chairperson

Mrs. Meera Pattabiraman,

Chairperson, Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society of India.

It was indeed a big honour to take over the chair of the national office of ARDSI from our founder Dr. Jacob Roy, who has become the chairman of Alzheimer’s Disease International. I felt humbled to have been conferred this immense responsibility. The sudden and sad death of Sqn. Ldr. KAR Nair was a huge shock and a big loss to ARDSI. He was one of the most distinguished and committed members and a dear and trusted colleague of mine for the past 10 years. The entire ARDSI family will sadly miss him and his selfless contributions to the organisation.

Having been associated with ARDSI for over 15 years and having served 3 terms as secretary general, I feel I have grown with the society and so am very aware of our strengths and weaknesses. Our biggest strength has been Dr. Jacob Roy who has devoted a major portion of his life for the cause of ARDSI. At the same time, as any organization grows, there will definitely be some challenges and problems and it is up to the board to get over them and make progress. Changes in the right direction in any expanding organisation signify growth and strength. So, as a management person, I will try to tackle some of these problems in the best possible manner.
